Six women developed chronic pain after moving to a new country.
One was even evaluated for cancer.
On the most recent episode of @bendy_bodies, Dr. Gregory Plotnikoff shared the story of six women who moved from India to London and developed unexplained musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, weakness, and declining health.
One woman's symptoms became so severe that physicians ordered a bone scan looking for a serious underlying disease.
But the answer was something much simpler.
All six women were found to have severely low vitamin D levels.
Their stories highlight an important reminder: nutritional deficiencies can sometimes mimic much more serious conditions and may contribute to pain, fatigue, weakness, injury risk, and delayed recovery.
Vitamin D is not the answer to every symptom.
But as Dr. Plotnikoff explains, it is one of the easiest things to measure and one of the most overlooked.
Have you ever had a simple lab result provide a surprising answer?
