On today’s episode of @bendy_bodies, I spoke with Dr. Eric Singman, alongside Dr. Dacre Knight of UVA Health, about how to spot red flags in treatment — especially when you’re in pain and just want relief.
Because here’s the reality: when patients are suffering, they’re often willing to try anything. And that urgency can make it easier to end up in situations that are ineffective, expensive, or even harmful.
Dr. Singman explains that one major red flag is when a provider treats every problem the same way — without considering a full differential diagnosis or looking for underlying causes.
Another? Cost without clarity. If a treatment is expensive, not covered by insurance, and has supposedly been around for years… it’s worth asking why.
Physicians take an oath to do no harm — and that should include your health and your finances.
This conversation is about helping patients feel more informed, more discerning, and more empowered to pause and ask better questions — even when they’re desperate for answers.
💬 Question for you: Have you ever felt pressured into a treatment that didn’t sit right?
