Tom is a professional Change Agent practicing at the Wellspring Counseling, Coaching and Transitions Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Tom retired from being a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor for twenty years. He has extensive training and experience with individuals, couples, families and teens. He has worked with persons who have endured/survived extreme trauma - including being a mental health professional deployed to New
York City immediately after 911. He has expertise in working with 2SLGBTQAI populations. He is also a UCC Minister though he states he “carries his collar in his back pocket”.
Prior to being a psychotherapist he was the State Director of the Association for Retarded Citizens (The ARC/Network), and before that he was Director of MentalHealth, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse for Cobb/Douglas (1/4 of Metro Atlanta) Counties.
He has his Master’s (M.Div.) Degree in Counseling from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and achieved his undergraduate degree in Education from Gardner-Webb College in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
He is married to another Therapist, Melissa Dickinson, who is a leader in the chronic illness population, specifically Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). He is a full time caregiver as well.
Tom was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina.
